Every metallic floor is poured by hand, so every one is different.
Metallic epoxy is a pigmented resin that moves while it's wet. As it's rolled and worked, the metallic particles swirl and settle, which gives the floor its depth: it can read like water, marble or polished stone depending on the colors and how the pour is worked. That also means you're choosing a direction, not an exact pattern, so Eric shows you samples and talks through how each color blend tends to move before you decide.
The prep is the same as any floor we coat: the slab is diamond ground, cracks are filled, and moisture is checked so the finish doesn't lift. Metallics show everything underneath, so the base has to be right. Then comes the color coat, worked by hand, and a clear topcoat.
We've poured metallics in homes, game rooms and businesses around Central Florida, including a YMCA lobby with the logo set into the floor, a restaurant dining room, and an entertainment venue hallway in deep blue.

In our customers’ words.
Eric came to our home in Cape Coral that we were making into a Rental and wanted something really special. We made the garage into a Game Room with all sorts of stuff and his floor is the star of the place. As a surprise to my husband, I got the beautiful floor that looks like molten copper. With a 4 person sauna and all the games, it's the first thing that blows peoples minds away. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
I did some research on epoxy floor coatings and ended up hiring Eric with EPOXY Star Custom Flooring Systems. We had Eric apply this metallic epoxy coating to our main floor surfaces and extended that into my game room as well. Eric was on time as scheduled, and he is a personable and friendly professional. I like the fact that this was a smaller company, and was very impressed with the high quality and reasonable (best) pricing.
Good to know.
Envious Coatings is owned and run by Eric Collins in Lady Lake, Florida, and coats floors across Lake, Sumter and Marion counties and the rest of Central Florida. Estimates are free and in person.
Can you match a color or put a logo in the floor?
Yes. We've set a logo into a YMCA lobby floor and matched a restaurant's house colors. Bring your colors or artwork to the estimate and Eric will tell you what's possible on your slab.
Is metallic epoxy slippery?
The finish is high gloss and can be slick when wet. For kitchens, entries and commercial floors we can add a fine grit to the topcoat for traction.
