Resurface the concrete you have. Don't tear it out.
A cementitious overlay is a thin, cement-based layer bonded over your existing concrete. Once it's down we can texture it, hand-cut it into flagstone, score it into wood planks, or stain it, then seal it. It covers stains, spalling and old patches, and it costs far less than breaking out and repouring a slab.
Outdoors in Florida, the surface has to deal with sun, rain and bare feet. Overlays stay cooler than a dark coating, the texture gives grip around a pool, and the sealer keeps out water and pool chemicals. Indoors-out spaces like lanais and screened porches get the same treatment.
We've done flagstone pool decks and driveways, wood-plank walkways and porches, and a stained overlay on an RV pad. Each starts with cleaning and repairing the old slab, because an overlay is only as sound as the concrete under it.

Will an overlay hide the cracks in my pool deck?
It covers surface wear, stains and old patches. Cracks are repaired first, but a crack that keeps moving can come back through any coating, so Eric will point those out at the estimate and tell you what to expect.
Does an overlay get hot around the pool?
Light-colored overlays stay much cooler underfoot than dark coatings or bare pavers, which is why they're the usual choice for pool decks here. Color choice matters, so we'll steer you toward lighter tones in full sun.
